Maglite® flashlights are probably the world’s most popular flashlight, and since its introduction back in 1979, Maglite® has become the flashlight of choice for many outdoor enthusiasts, police officers, and other security professionals. The Maglite® flashlight is well known for its quality, durability, and reliability, and is now available with the new MAG-LED™ technology.

The advantages of using LED bulbs within a flashlight instead of standard incandescent bulbs (or the existing Maglite® Krypton bulbs) are:
  • LED bulbs last a lot longer – LED bulbs will last for up to 100,000 hours of continuous use, before they need replacing.
  • LED bulb are more battery efficient – Typically flashlights using LED bulbs will have a battery life between two to four times longer than an incandescent bulb.
  • LED bulbs are more shock resistant – They don’t have a filament or a tube to break and therefore offer higher durability.

All LED Maglite flashlight models come with a bright three-watt Luxeon Rebel LED, which unlike an incandescent bulb is virtually indestructible. All LED Maglite flashlight models also have a useful feature whereby the light beam can be focused. What this means is that by rotating the head of the flashlight, you can adjust the beam from a narrow spot beam to a wide-angle flood beam.

The LED Maglite flashlight D-Cell models have a three-position switch with on, off, and signal modes. In signal-mode, the lamp flashes on and off repeatedly – useful in emergency situations. The D-Cell models also comes with a spare flashlight lamp in the tail cap of the flashlight.

The LED Maglite flashlight AA models have a useful candle mode, which effectively allows you to convert the flashlight into an electric candle – you unscrew the flashlight head, then place the head glass-side down on a flat surface and place flashlight barrel into flashlight head. Like the D-Cell models, the AA models also come with a 3-watt bulb, so pack a powerful punch within a small package.
